The Atoka Trail Riders were incorporated in Atoka, Oklahoma by local farmers and ranchers in 1964 and have been organizing and hosting rodeos since the early 1950's. One of the founding fathers of the Atoka Trail Riders was Clark McEntire, father of legendary Country Music Star, Reba McEntire. There are many founding family members who, generations later, are focused on preserving our western heritage and the western way of life for our families and our community.
Today, the Atoka Trail Riders have become a member driven non-profit organization. With membership in excess of 300, the Atoka Trail Riders is the single largest equine association of its kind in Southeastern Oklahoma. Our mission is to promote and coordinate equestrian related activities in a positive fun-filled environment that facilitates family and community involvement.
The Atoka Trail Riders are expanding our programming with many new initiatives in 2016 in response to our memberships' expectations. We strive to support the equine industry by ensuring that high quality programs in education, recreation or sport related areas are available to members and the community and are delivered by experts in their field.
Our ability to provide programs and activities is reliant upon you, our members. It is through your continued support and hard work that we are able to continue to make a difference in the industry within our community. The Atoka Trail Riders are expanding and broadening our efforts to offer our youth, our community and our members new opportunities. To become a part of our new initiatives become an active member!
